Kroket (crockett)

Information

A kroket (croquette) is a small fried roll containing usually tasty beef or veal ragout, but can be enjoyed in more variations like fish, vegetables, shrimps or cheese.

Originally it was a French invention, but after World War II, several suppliers started mass-producing of croquettes. The kroket became a popular fast food. Even McDonalds in Holland sells it.

Detailed information

At the 28th of June 1945, van Dobben started a sandwich shop in the center of Amsterdam. The shop became famous because of the Van Dobben Croquettes. Van Dobben grew into a nationwide understanding and many tourists found their way to the Van Dobben Eetsalon. Except the Van Dobben Kroket, they serve too hot meat sandwiches and steak tartare (filet americain).
