Efteling is the largest theme park in the BeNeLux, and the oldest theme park in the world. Founded in 1952 and nowadays 4,000,000 visitors a year.
Originally the park catered towards children with a fairy tale theme, like the Fairy Tale Forest (het Sprookjesbos) designed by the famous Dutch illustrator Anton Pieck. In over fifty years, the park evolved into a full-size theme park with cultural, romantic and nostalgic themes and a variety of amusement rides.
The succes of Efteling has been largely attributed to it's high-quality ride designs and architecture and it's pleasant green environments and gardening.
